Being overwhelmed by the number of possible ways to invest your money affects almost everybody. However, it’s important to remember that it’s the number of available investment products that make it overwhelming and not the strategies that will set you on the path to your specific financial goals.

Eyre Financial Services will identify the key things about your situation that cut right through the confusion, to make it as simple as possible for you to make the right financial choices.

We explore your core purpose for building your wealth, when you may need to access your money, what you expect your return on investment to be over that time and your likely reaction in times of investment market unrest (which will happen).

As specialists in investment strategies, we will tailor a solution that meets your specific needs. Only when you understand, and are happy with, how that strategy will move you towards your goals do we suggest a specific product or platform that will be the right tool for the job.

The CARE Investment Philosophy

Every investment decision we make is driven by our CARE philosophy: a sophisticated and robust process that helps you make smart decisions.

Your investments will be selected according to your individual needs, risk profile and financial goals, with daily portfolio management by our qualified and experienced investment committee.

Our CARE philosophy is made up of four key components, which combine to form the foundation of your investment portfolio and the first step on your pathway to wealth:

1

Core Investments

These investments are carefully selected by our team to match your risk profile. They’ll usually include a combination of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and fixed interest funds, to help you gain exposure to the market.

2

Active Investments

We’ll incorporate a tactical blend of Australian and global shares, emerging markets, global small companies and gold in your portfolio. Your active investments are designed to smooth out the volatility of individual sectors and provide you with a nice, consistent overall return.

3

Reserves

In retirement, your portfolio will include up to four years of cash reserves, to provide a buffer against any adverse market conditions that can last up to 7 years. This offers peace of mind and helps you stay focused on your long-term goals.

4

Enhanced Returns

This portfolio is made up of Australian and overseas shares, held either directly or through managed funds or ETF's. It adds value to your portfolio and can enhance your returns over time.

The number one lesson? Don’t ‘Mess It Up’

Our CARE philosophy is designed to help you make smart decisions about your investment portfolio, so you can protect the wealth that you’ve worked so hard to create. To help you avoid the most common investment pitfalls and mistakes, we use the ‘MESS IT UP’ acronym:

Media: We don’t get caught up in the hype of bad news stories or gossip from people who aren’t informed, but stay focused on the bigger picture.

Emotion: We make sure you never make an investment decision based solely on your emotions or reaction to a market drop or increase.

Short-term focus: We don’t focus on what’s hot right now in shares or managed funds, but look at where your investments will be in the future.

Single issues: We don’t get caught up in issues like the latest international crisis, the current oil price or what the US President said yesterday.

Illiquidity: Not having enough cash reserves makes you vulnerable, so we assess how much liquidity you have on an annual basis.

Timing: We believe it’s all about ‘time in the market’ not ‘timing the market’, because wealth is built slowly and steadily over time.

Under-diversification: We don’t tie your success to individual companies, but diversify your portfolio to reduce your risk and improve your returns.

Performance: We strive for long-term market returns, rather than trying to sneakily outperform the market. It never works and we know it.
